Cookie Policy
Effective May 31, 2026
TutorCelle is operated by ExcelUp Lab LLC ("ExcelUp Lab", "we", "our", or "us"). This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies on the TutorCelle website and apps (the "Services"), and the choices you have. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. Plain-language summary
TutorCelle currently uses only strictly-necessary storage to keep you signed in and to keep the site working. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, we do not sell or share personal data for advertising, and there is no cookie consent banner because no optional cookies are set. If we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this policy, show a consent banner where required, and only set them after you opt in.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and SDKs in mobile apps. We refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.
3. What we actually set today
All of the items below are strictly necessaryfor TutorCelle to work and cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in or security:
- Authentication tokens (e.g.
sb-*-auth-token) stored in your browser's local storage by our authentication provider to keep you signed in across page loads. - Session and security cookies set by our hosting and authentication infrastructure to protect against CSRF, abuse, and to route requests correctly.
- UI preferences (such as the dismissed state of in-app banners) stored in local storage so the interface behaves the way you left it.
We do not currently set analytics, advertising, retargeting, social-media, or cross-site tracking cookies.
4. First-party and third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by TutorCelle directly (first-party). Others are set by service providers we use for hosting, authentication, and security (third-party). Those providers process data on our behalf under contract and only for the strictly-necessary purposes above.
5. Your choices
- UK / EU / EEA. UK PECR and the EU ePrivacy rules require consent only for non-essential cookies. Because TutorCelle currently sets only strictly-necessary cookies, no consent banner is shown. If we later introduce analytics or marketing cookies, we will request your consent first.
- California and other US states. You can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising and we do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of today. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal if and when we introduce any practice that would require it.
- Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of TutorCelle (sign-in, security).
6. Do Not Track
There is no industry-wide standard for Do Not Track ("DNT"), so we currently do not respond to DNT browser signals.
7. Children
Student accounts on TutorCelle are reserved for adult learners aged 18 or older; minors use the platform only through a Parent account managed by a parent or legal guardian. We do not use cookies to advertise to minors and we do not use data collected from accounts identified as belonging to a minor for advertising purposes. See the Privacy Policy for our broader commitments to children's privacy.
8. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as our Services evolve. Material changes — in particular, introducing any non-essential cookie — will be announced in-app or by email before they take effect, and a consent mechanism will be added at the same time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page tells you when it was last updated.
