Trust & Safety
Our commitments to a safe, verified, and respectful learning environment worldwide.
TutorCelle is a product of ExcelUp Lab LLC. The safety commitments below apply across the TutorCelle platform worldwide.
Verified tutors
Every tutor on TutorCelle must submit government-issued ID, teaching or subject credentials, and a profile photo. Our team reviews each application before a tutor can appear in search or contact students. We may re-review credentials at any time and revoke access if any document is found invalid or expired.
Protecting minors
- Students under 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.
- Before using the platform, parents complete a mandatory consent flow and provide a typed digital signature (full legal name). We store an electronic consent record as evidence of guardian consent.
- The parent's government-issued ID must match the legal name on the consent record.
- Parents receive an email notification every time their child contacts a tutor, books an intro call, requests a consultation, or accepts a tutor — including the tutor's name.
- Parents or guardians are required to be on camera with their child during every video session with a tutor.
- Parent accounts and their requests are clearly marked across the platform with a "Tutoring for a minor" indicator so tutors know in advance that a child will be involved.
- Before a tutor can accept — or be accepted for — a tutoring session with a child, the tutor must complete a mandatory child-safety acknowledgement. The tutor reviews a safety checklist (parent-on-camera requirement, no off-platform private contact with the minor, mandatory reporting of safety concerns, no recording without consent, age-appropriate conduct) and types their full legal name as a digital signature. We store this acknowledgement as an electronic record (tutor name, date and time, IP address, acknowledgement version, and account ID) and the tutor cannot go live with a minor until it is on file.
Safe sessions
TutorCelle does not host video conferencing. Live sessions take place on a third-party meeting link (such as Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams) that the tutor submits and our team reviews before it can be shared with students or parents. Either party can end a session at any time and report it for review. In-app messaging is logged and may be reviewed by our Trust & Safety team in response to reports.
To prevent unsolicited outreach to minors and adult students, tutors cannot message a student first. Students (or the parent of a minor) always initiate the first contact with a tutor; only after that can the tutor reply. Tutor ratings and response rates shown on profiles are computed automatically from real activity on TutorCelle — they are not self-reported.
Safety and transactional emails (such as parent notifications when a child contacts a tutor, booking confirmations, and security alerts) are part of the Service and cannot be disabled while the account is active.
Reporting and enforcement
Anyone can report a profile, message, or session from inside the app. Our Trust & Safety team reviews reports within 24 hours and may issue warnings, suspend, or permanently remove accounts. Serious safety concerns are escalated to local authorities where applicable. See our Community Guidelines for the full enforcement framework.
Data and privacy
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict internal access on a need-to-know basis, and give you full control to download or delete your data. Read our Privacy Policy for region-specific rights including GDPR (UK/EU), CCPA/CPRA (California), LGPD (Brazil), PIPEDA (Canada), and the Australian Privacy Act.
Emergency support
If you or your child are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Then email support@exceluplab.com or file a child-safety report (CSAM, grooming, threats, exploitation — SLA-tracked, reviewed in 1–24h depending on severity).
